Hybrid Cloud Adoption: How the Healthcare Industry is Undergoing Transformation

The last few years have witnessed a massive shift in the management of healthcare services. Healthcare and life-sciences leaders recognized, and emphasized on the strategic value of technology solutions for efficiently and effectively managing clinical workflows, patient outcomes from data analytics, remote monitoring technologies, etc.

While leveraging the Cloud offers powerful incentives for this industry, CIOs seek solutions that align with existing systems, maintain the standards of compliance & quality assurance, and enhance data integrity & service reliability. The future is now, and digital transformation seems predestined. AI-driven decisions, patient-centric digital care, and data-enabled insights poise to be integral pillars of this transformation.

At the recent edition of ‘Digital Leaders Club’ curated by CORE Media and powered by Google Cloud India, CIOs from the healthcare industry and Google Cloud India executives discussed the different aspects of how cutting-edge technologies are making rapid advancements in the sector and what are the new use cases that will be introduced in the near future.

Anoop Mathur, Founder - CORE Media, kicked off the conversation by talking about how businesses in the healthcare sector are eager to adopt a digital-first approach to increase productivity, reduce costs, and eliminate redundancy. Joining Mr. Mathur as a co-host in this discussion were K L Narayanan and Hitesh Bathija from Google Cloud. The key points highlighted by the CXOs and digital leaders from the healthcare sector attending the discussion were as follows:-

  • Regulatory compliance and audit, pose a gap for Healthcare & Life Sciences verticals in leveraging the cloud for their digital journey. CIOs are looking for cloud solution providers who are GXP and GDPR compliant. Investment forms another critical factor that CIOs consider while strategizing their digital priorities.
  • Hybrid Cloud is the preferred choice, but security and data privacy are high on the radar when moving the applications to the cloud, and CIOs emphasize on faster seamless deployment and scalability.
  • To drive faster R&D and Innovation, and for faster analysis CIOs cite the need for higher compute power and low code no code applications that can help crunch data faster in real time.
