Migrating SAP Applications to the Cloud is a Priority for CIOs and Digital Leaders

Cloud has been the biggest accelerator of digital and business transformation for enterprises in the new paradigm. Organizations are extensively leveraging the cloud, not just for reducing their on-premises footprint and the associated cost, but also to grow into more agile, connected, and data-driven entities. Migrating critical business systems successfully and seamlessly to the cloud is the biggest milestone in this journey.

It is therefore imperative for businesses to move their SAP applications to the cloud, and move them fast. But it is vital for CIOs to ensure that they take the most appropriate decisions for this mission-critical move.

At the recent edition of ‘Digital Leaders Club’ curated by CORE Media and powered by Google Cloud India, CIOs, digital leaders from diverse industries and Google Cloud India executives discussed the potential advantages businesses can witness by migrating their SAP applications to the cloud.

Anoop Mathur, Founder - CORE Media, opened the conversation by talking about the need for need to streamline the operations of SAP HANA and asked the speakers to elaborate on the challenges they face. Joining Mr. Mathur as a co-host in this discussion were Srimurugan Veluswamy and Sundar Pelapur from Google Cloud. The key points highlighted by the CXOs and digital leaders attending the discussion were as follows:-

  • CIOs and digital leaders are gearing up for a future of multi-cloud where they can distribute workloads and mission-critical applications. They are also looking for hyper scalers who can support and help them grow in a Hybrid environment.
  • CIOs and digital leaders are exploring scalable cloud solutions which will help them optimize performance with continuous evaluation of the current systems, leverage data from all sources, and help in monetizing with this information.
  • CIOs and digital leaders look forward to gradually migrating DR and other larger workloads to Cloud. Also, automation is on the cards, and CIOs and digital leaders are looking for integrated AI/ML and IoT solutions to create better predictive models that can support their expansion and digitalization plans.
