Building Data Cloud
The 1st Virtual Google Cloud Day of 2023 was organized to hold discussions on differentiators in Data Cloud, Secure Cloud and Collaborative Cloud and why customers prefer their data cloud. The theme was: Let’s Build - Data Cloud, where Rajesh Ramdas, Head of Customer Engineering, Digital Natives, Google Cloud India, started the conversation with Sunil Kumar, Senior Director of Engineering at Flipkart Data Platform on 'How Flipkart is solving the current day data problems?'
Building a data cloud involves creating a centralized data repository that can be accessed and utilized by multiple users or systems. This can be done through the use of cloud computing services, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure, which offer data storage and management capabilities.
To build a data cloud, the organizations will first need to identify the types of data you want to store and the requirements for accessing and using that data. This may involve defining data structures and formats, as well as establishing data security protocols.
The next session was led by Sandeep Agarwal, Customer Engineer, Security Specialist, Google Cloud India, in which he spoke about the importance of security. Following this, Mandiant (A cybersecurity firm that is now a aprt of Google) shared highlights of the threat landscape for 2023. Led by Yihao Lim, Intelligence Strategy Lead (APJ), Mandiant (Now part of Google), this session shed light on key security trends for 2023.
This session will provide an overview of Google Cloud Security and how it can help protect organization’s data followed by a hands-on exercise where participants will go into a real-world breach scenario to learn about best practices for protecting their data.
Last but not the least, Sujata Dusi, Customer Engineer, Google Workspace India spoke about
what's in store from in Google Workspace in 2023. Google Workspace is an innovative and flexible solution that helps people and organisations increase productivity, communication and collaboration like no other. It brings together the resources that companies need to face current and future challenges, being composed of a wide set of applications.
