In a closed-door discussion curated by CORE Media, powered by GS Lab | GAVS, CIOs and Digital leaders from various industries discussed the tech driven evolution in healthcare and pharma sectors that are enhancing business outcomes.

Anoop Mathur, Founder, CORE Media, opened the conversation by talking about the ongoing transformation of healthcare and pharma sector through technology. Joining him as co-hosts in this discussion were Kushboo Goel, Senior Consulting Manager, GAVS Technologies and Raghav Radhakrishnan, VP & India Business Head, GAVS Technologies.

While addressing the challenges and opportunities that tech driven evolution brings in the healthcare and pharma industries, especially in data accessibility and development in patient care services, the discussion focused on how the the adoption of digital technologies impacted and enhanced various operational aspects, such as patient registration, billing processes, IP discharge procedures, and overall clinical efficiency within organizations.

The session also provided insights into the ABDM initiative's impact on HL7/FHIR adoption in India, fostering interoperability, and how ZIF implementation is enhancing the reliability of healthcare and pharma operations.

CIOs from the Pharma sector discussed the complexity of the pharma value chain. They acknowledged the increasing adoption of automation and AI to streamline their intricate value chain.  CIOs and digital leaders from the healthcare sector, discussed the challenges faced by their organizations while modernizing their homegrown legacy HIS and EMR systems.

Healthcare & Pharma organizations manage a vast amount of sensitive patient data, including names, addresses, medical diagnoses, treatment histories, and financial information. Implementation of new technologies makes their data vulnerable and exposed. Overall, CIOs emphasized the growing urgency for a robust ecosystem to combat data security challenges.
