Next-Gen Solutions are Paving the Way for Media & Entertainment Sector

India’s Media & Entertainment industry (M&E) is primed for the next phase of growth, fueled by the digital revolution and evolving content consumption patterns. Forecasted to touch the $43.93 billion mark by 2024, M&E companies’ key focus is to modernize content production & distribution operations and transform audience experience across the world. From cloud-native rendering to audience insights to AI-enriched personalized content, leaders in the industry are leaving no stone unturned in leveraging technology to transform the business.

At the recent edition of ‘Digital Leaders Club’ curated by CORE Media and powered by Google Cloud India, CIOs from India’s Media & Entertainment industry (M&E) businesses and Google Cloud India executives discussed the different aspects of how digitization is making rapid advancements in the sector and what are the new use cases that may be introduced in the near future.

Anoop Mathur, Founder - CORE Media, started the conversation by talking about businesses in the Media and Entertainment industry embracing cutting-edge technologies. However, there is still a considerable challenge in terms of the adoption of new technologies due to no clearly defined ROIs and how can CIOs resolve these challenges. Joining Mr. Mathur as co-host in this discussion was Chirag Sanghani from Google Cloud. The key points highlighted by the CXOs and digital leaders from the Media & Entertainment industry attending the discussion were as follows:-

  • As businesses continue to improve the availability of content for their users across every digital channel, CXOs are looking for effective cloud solutions to help them achieve greater speed and agility.
  • To provide users with accurate information from the archived data, CXOs are keen on integrating next-generation search solutions, and NLP (Natural Language Processing) based models into their organizations.
  • Digital leaders from the media and entertainment industry are enthusiastic about leveraging AI/ML and RPA (Robotic Process Automation) use cases to deliver a personalized customer experience.
