In a knowledge exchange session, curated by CORE Media, in association with SUSE, CIOs and industry leaders explored strategies for leveraging edge computing and IoT for real-time data processing.

Anoop Mathur, Founder, CORE Media, along with Keith Basil, General Manager & Vice President, SUSE, Larry Morris, Sr. Director, Product Management, SUSE, and Veeresh Ullikashi, Edge Business Leader, APAC, SUSE explored the adoption of open-source standards for seamless interoperability across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.

Key Points discussed in the session:

1. SUSE experts emphasized the importance of open-source standards for seamless interoperability, addressing specific challenges in industries like BFSI, retail, and manufacturing. They discussed how Kubernetes is increasingly essential for managing cloud-native applications, especially at the edge.

2. CIOs expressed concerns about application modernization, focusing on scalability, security, and the management of traditional infrastructure. They highlighted the need for remodeling traditional infrastructure and a shift toward cloud-agnostic technologies to ensure stability.

3. The need to balance cloud and on-premise solutions to prevent cloud resource overload was addressed. For NBFCs and manufacturing, there is a shift towards customer-centric models and real-time operations, driven by vertical-specific solutions. The integration of edge computing with GenAI is expected to enhance scalability and flexibility for advanced analytics and IoT-sensitive operations.
